January 10, 2020 Update

Austin had a great day today!  Dr. Fugate was in mid-morning (not a bad thing that he's not stopping in to see you as soon as he gets here)!  He said his chest x-ray is finally improving.  His CRP (infection/inflammation marker) is now 8!  He was at 14, then 10 and normal is less than 1.  Trending in the right direction, but have a ways to go.

Respiratory therapy sees him every 4 hours and she was just in.  She said he's sounding much better and they need to start talking about weaning his BIPAP settings!

He was much more alert today, talking, playing with his toys and getting excited!  I even got him to smile and giggle a little bit this evening!  He also gave me quite a bit of sass tonight, I'll take it!

Special thanks to Grammy for hanging out with Austin so Daddy can be in his meetings remotely and Mommy can go to work!  Also, to Call Papa for picking Max up from daycare each day!  Tonight we were able to all eat dinner in the Ronald McDonald House.  It was good for Max as he understands more of what is going on than ever before.  Due to winter visiting rules, he can't be on the patient units, but he can be in the common areas of the hospital.  He asked to see Austin tonight and we had to tell him he couldn't.  Tugged at my heart strings a little!

Goodnight and SKOL Vikings!
Hugs,
