Keeping up with Four Joneses!

Disclaimer - this is long! Today has been a day of amazing!  I'm going to start by saying Brian is the best husband ever (no he didn't tell me to write that)!  I knew going into today's appointment that it was going to be big, never did I expect it to be this BIG!  I was unable to go due to school and Brian took on the daunting task of attending, discussing and reporting Austin's progress.  Those of you who know me very well, know that for me to give up responsibility is very difficult.  Up to this point Brian and I had both attended Austin's GI appointments.  Although I was 100% confident everything would go swimmingly, I still wanted to be there....but, it just wasn't possible today.  And...it was okay. So, reverse to last week for a minute.  I took Austin to his audiology appointment.  After three tests, I was told he failed two of them and the 3rd one he was just too young for and had inconclusive results.  I was told to come back in 8 weeks to have

or if you are Austin, great news!  Austin is now 1 month post op from his reanastomosis and he is doing better than we ever could have imagined!  He is a growing, thriving, almost 8 month old!  Austin loves to play with toys and is doing a great job of using his hands.  He practices bringing things to his mouth and is rolling over in both directions!  He is a smiley and happy baby!  It's pretty apparent to Brian and I that he feels so much better than before surgery.  Medically, he's exceeding all expectations.  He's currently getting 23ml/hr in his feeding tube (he left the hospital at 18ml/hr).  As of last Wednesday, he's getting six 6ml bottles each day (he left the hospital with five 5ml bottles).  Since discharge Dr. Kevan has decreased his lipids rate/volume and his TPN calories not once, but twice!  At this time, he still requires IV nutrition 18 hours a day.  Austin is going to keep us busy in the next couple weeks as he has 3 upcoming appointments.  He will s
